Fly Castaway offers a wide variety of fishing adventures in Africa from casting to toothy Tigerfish in the Zambezi to teasing up Sailfish and Marlin off the coast of East Africa. The accommodations also cover a wide spectrum, from Luxury Safari Tent Camps to beachfront cottages to thatch roof Chalets depending on the destination. Fly Castaway only offers African fishing packages during the peak-seasons in each location.
                                                           

East Coast

The magical waters off the East Coast of Africa have long been regarded as one of the premier areas to tame billfish species such as Indo-Pacific Sailfish as well as Striped, Black and Blue Marlin on fly and are particularly famous for the shear numbers of Sailfish that congregate around in these warm waters.

 Vaal River

 

The Vaal River, boasts an enormous stretch of diverse water conditions, home to the Smallmouth and Largemouth Yellowfish. Smallmouth Yellowfish readily take dry-flies, nymphs and streamers and offer anglers some of the most exciting freshwater fly fishing they will ever experience. The Largemouth Yellowfish is an apex predator in the system, with adult fish feeding almost exclusively on small fish, crabs, shrimp, and on the odd occasion amphibians and small mammals. They are a true test for any angler, with long casts into tight structure being the order of the day.

Barotse Flood Plains
In the Barotse flood plains area, the Zambezi River and its inhabitants have remained largely undisturbed over its history. This area has produced numerous world records for Tigerfish. Fly Castaway has newly built luxury safari tented camp and is ready to land those elusive 20lb 'Tigers' on fly!

Zambezi River Valley 

 

The river in this area flows through perfect habitat for these eating machines, with countless islands, braids and sandbars scattering the strongly flowing waterway. The large Tigerfish focus their feeding efforts around large concentrations of baitfish, with the immense amount of structure and cover in this section of the river providing exactly that.

Due to space and season limitations, there is no non-angling rate.
