Permit Alley, Belize - Special Introductory Rates! Southern Belize, and particularly Placencia, has long been known as one of the top hotspots in the world for the elusive permit. While found in good numbers close to the mainland, the real action is found on the ocean flats located about 14 miles offshore near the barrier reef, an area known to cognoscenti as "Permt Alley". These skinny water, white sand wading flats are gin-clear ocean water and offer what many consider the ultimate angling experience, stalking tailing permit on foot! The lodge is basic, but clean and comfortable accommodating a maximum
of 6 anglers in 3 double occupancy cabanas with tiled floors and bath, comfortable new twin beds, generated electricity
and 4-way ventilation to take advantage of cooling ocean breezes. Each cabana has a porch with hammocks and Adirondack
chairs overlooking home flat. The lodge dining room/clubhouse features an open-air deck overlooking the water where
anglers enjoy a relaxing happy hour before sitting down to one of Tarpon Caye's signature Caribbean Gourmet dinners.

| Kau Tapen - Jan 10 - 17, 6 rods; Feb 14 - 21, 6 rods - $7,895 Situated just upstream of Villa Maria's water, the venerable Kau Tapen has remained the crème de la crème since it first opened in 1985. Kau Tapen 64 pools span over 25 kilometers of water on the Rio Grande plus bonus miles on the tributary Rio Menendez, representing the largest tract of water of any lodge on the river. Like Villa Maria, Kau Tapen is historically rebooked every year by repeat guests. At this moment we have 6 rods open for January 10th - 17th, a 6 rods open for Feb 14 - 21. The middle February weeks are the most sought after on Kau Tapen waters, and that opening is certain to book up very quickly. |

Aurelia Lodge
Aurelia Lodge is our newest offering on the Rio Grande. Located just above Kau Tapen's water, Aurelia offers 8-rods nearly 13 kilometers of double bank fishing on the Rio Grande plus 24 kilometers on the middle Rio Menendez. This stretch of the river could be characterized as "upper-middle" (there are still 3 more lodges upstream), and generally is most productive in February and March. We currently have all 8 rods blocked for 2 of the best weeks of the season, February 14th - 21st and March 14th - 21st. The 2009 rate will be $5,790. However, reservations confirmed by deposit before June 1st, 2008 will be honored at $5,590. June 15 - 22, 1 rod: $4,840: Just one space available for what is historically considered THE best week of the season for big fish. July 22 - 29: Due to an illness, the family who normally took this week will not be coming this summer. This is normally an excellent grilse week with some salmon mixed in. Records over the last 10 years indicate even numbered years as strong grilse years (2 to 1 over odd years).
