Doug Schlink of Angler Adventures participated in the record-setting
week at Casa
Blanca, November 6th - 13th, 2004, when 18 anglers landed
56 permit on the fly and racked up 10 Grand Slams. "The Week" was first documented in Angler Adventures
May 2005 Newsletter. Interest in targeting permit has grown tremendously in recent years. Once thought to be uncatchable
on a fly, permit are being caught more regurlarly throughout the Caribbean due to the increased experience of guides,
new, effective fishing techniques, and innovative crab patterns (like Dr. Ralph Cifaldi's Gyno Crab). Fishing trips
like "The Week" don't happen often, but records are made to be broken! There are a number of reasons I like the fall fishery. First, most of the lodges close or are lightly booked through the summer. The lack of pressure promotes "happier" permit. |

| Water temperatures during the fall are usually optimum for permit,
which take flies better in warmer temperatures. Migratory tarpon are available in good numbers into November. The
snook fishing seems to be at its best during the fall. Lastly, the rates for the fall season are considerably lower

| Jorge Graziosi has been guiding in Patagonia, Argentina since 1968.
In 1999 he built and opened Arroyo Claro Lodge, located in the
beautiful Carrileufu River Valley, a 3-hour drive south of Bariloche and 3-hours from the Chilean border. Jorge
may be the only outfitter offering guests the opportunity to fish both Argentina and Chile. Arroyo Claro Lodge
