Casa Blanca Lodge, located on the south side of Ascension Bay has established itself as the premier fishing lodge in Mexico and Central America by offering outstanding service, top boats and guides and phenomenal fishing. Last year Casa Blanca guests landed in excess of 300 permit on flies. Grand slams are common here with help from the lodge's secret tarpon lagoon. Bonefish flats are clean and hard, good for sneaking up on tailing fish. Book early, space is in great demand.

Just south of Ascension Bay is Espiritu Santo Bay, a vast expanse of flats and lagoons, loaded with bonefish, permit, tarpon and snook that is the next frontier in the Yucatan. Casa Blanca Lodge has opened its sister facility to the south calledPlaya Blanca Lodge. Located on a gorgeous beach, Playa Blanca is emphasizing non-fishing pursuits but will offer a limited number of anglers access to an exciting new fishery that has proven popular among those who "want to get there first."

Pesca Maya is an attractive, beachfront fishing lodge located 4 miles north of Ascension Bay, where more permit are landed on flies than anywhere in the world. Bonefish, tarpon and snook are also plentiful. Pesca Maya is a reasonably priced alternative to Casa Blanca and Boca Paila. There are no set transfer days, so you can choose dates and number of days. Besides wading and skiff fishing the flats of Ascension Bay and El Rio Lagoon, Pesca Maya offers limited surf casting from the beach.

Another highly regarded fishing lodge located on the north side of Ascension Bay is the Ascension Bay Bonefish Club (ABBC). This lodge only takes 6 people. The emphasis is on permit and they employ two guides per boat. Call for details.

Boca Paila is a beautiful beachfront fishing lodge just 2 hours south of Cancun, noted for excellent food and service. The facilities include attractive thatched roof cottages overlooking a pristine, white sand beach. Fishing is in the lagoon system north of Ascension Bay. Non-fishing activities include trips to Mayan ruins, snorkeling and bird watching.

Operated by an American couple, Tom and Cheryl Woodward, Paradise Lodge is a small, remote facility with a vast selection of shallow, clear tarpon lakes to fish. The tarpon do not receive much pressure and eat the fly extremely well. They range in size from 10-60 pounds and up. This is primarily sight fishing in calm, protected lagoons. Some lagoons hold trophy snook and barracuda. Tom also offers day trips to the virtually untouched bonefish and permit flats of Espiritu Santo Bay.

The port of Cabo San Lucas on Mexico's Baja Peninsula has long been a favorite destination for offshore fisherman, and there are several major fleets specializing in conventional offshore fishing, such as the Hotel Solmar Fleet which we represent. Until recently however, there has not been an outfitter catering specifically to light tackle and flyfishing enthusiasts. Baja Anglers fish from sea worthy and speedy, twin engine, catamaran hull Glacier boats with bilingual guides who specialize in fly fishing and light tackle techniques. Species available include striped, blue & black marlins, sailfish, dorado (dolphin fish), yellowfin tuna, roosterfish and more. Packages are available with accommodation options of hotel or private beach front condominium units.
