Angler Adventure’s staff have traveled extensively throughout Belize and are up to date on the variety of fishing opportunities this small country has to offer.

Northern Belize is best known for it’s year-round population of tarpon and in the Ambergris Cay area, you’ll find the best conditions for stalking tarpon on clear, shallow flats. When conditions are right you might see hundreds of tarpon and jump several in a day.

Bonefish and good numbers of permit are also in residence, making northern Belize a  notable destination for a "Grand Slam" (catching a bonefish, permit and a tarpon on a fly in the same day).

In the north and running directly along the barrier reef (second largest in the world!) we recommend the beachfront El Pescador Fishing Lodge, and the brand new El Pescador Villas or the we suggest the exquisite Victoria House all located on Ambergris Caye. On the mainland we recommend the long established Belize River Lodge. Belize River Lodge also operates two live aboard vessels - the 52-foot "Blue Yonder", and the 58-foot "Christina", which carry up to 6 guests and can fish anywhere in Belize.

Thirty miles off the mainland of Belize are the magnificent Turneffe Islands (Atoll) and two fine lodges operating there, Turneffe Flats and Turneffe Island Lodge.

The southern lodges of Belize have access to the finest permit grounds south of Mexico. In Punta Gorda, the brand new
Machaca Hill Lodge (formerly El Pescador Punta Gorda) is an incredible facility with breathtaking views from the hilltop lodge.

Also in the southern region, we have discovered a true “Grand Slam” hotspot, “Charlie Leslie’s” Tarpon Cay Lodge. Tarpon Cay Lodge is set up fish camp style on Tarpum Caye, 15 miles off the coast of Belize. The guides fish the tide and not the clock! Permit addicts, here’s your fix. Charlie Leslie is a Permit guru.

Tarpon Caye Lodge is minutes from the flats. You’ll fish the tides. No punching the clock here. You’ll see tons of permit. Catching them is up to you … and a rabbits foot or a four leaf clover, whatever works. Tarpon roll within view of your bedroom, too.

Throughout Belize there are many snorkeling and diving opportunities. This richly cultural land is home to many archeological sites and is one of the world’s best Eco-Tourism destinations for caving, trekking, kayaking.
